Oh my sweet Saviour Jesus,
How my heart cries out to You.
For all that You have done for me,
You’ve refreshed my heart anew.
Guilty of no crime,
You were the spotless Lamb.
Condemned to be crucified,
Your trial was a sham.
Beaten and whipped, the cuts so deep,
And not a single word You said.
Then, a crown of thorns,
Was placed upon Your head.
The cross they made You carry,
All the way up to the hill.
This You did, my Lord,
To do the Father’s will.
They placed You on the cross,
And nailed Your hands and feet.
The agony You suffered,
My sinful nature to defeat.
You gave Your life so freely,
That day upon the tree.
Your crimson flow poured out,
Poured out to set me free.
On Calvary, You bore my sin,
You made the sacrifice.
To give me everlasting life,
You died and paid the price.
